I just felt like sharing this story from The Philosophy Professor! To remind my self of the important stuff in life.

«A Professor stood before his philosophy class and had some items in front of him. When the class began, wordlessly, he picked up a very large and empty mayonnaise jar and proceeded to fill it with golf balls. He then asked the students if the jar was full. They agreed that it was.

So the Professor then picked up a box of pebbles and poured them into the jar. He shook the jar lightly. The pebbles rolled into the open areas between the golf balls. He then asked the students again if the jar was full. They agreed it was. The Professor next picked up a box of sand and poured it into the jar. Of course, the sand filled up everything else. He asked once more if the jar was full. The students responded with an unanimous “yes.”

The Professor then produced two cups of coffee from under the table and poured the entire contents into the jar, effectively filling the space between the grains of sand.

“Now,” said the professor, as the laughter subsided, “I want you to recognize that this jar represents your life. The golf balls are the important things–your family, your children, your health, your friends, and your favorite passions – things that if everything else was lost and only they remained, your life would still be full.

The pebbles are the other things that matter like your job, your house, and your car. The sand is everything else -the small stuff.

“If you put the sand into the jar first,” he continued, “there is no room for the pebbles or the golf balls. The same goes for life. If you spend all your time and energy on the small stuff, you will never have room for the things that are important to you. Pay attention to the things that are critical to your happiness. Play with your children. Take time to get medical checkups. Take your partner out to dinner. Play another 18.

There will always be time to clean the house and fix the disposal. “Take care of the golf balls first, the things that really matter. Set your priorities. The rest is just sand.” One of the students raised her hand and inquired what the coffee represented. The Professor smiled. “I’m glad you asked. It just goes to show you that no matter how full your life may seem, there’s always room for a couple of cups of coffee with a friend.”

Moose on the riviera is highly unlikely, but when you are on a budget and have access to unlimited supplies, you gotta give it a try!

I defrosted a big 1,7kg moos piece, on monday! Svein Erik prioritized his luggage to contain 15 kg moos meat the last time he flew from Norway…

So this week we have had elk burgers, elk soup, elk casserole, elk steaks, elk stew, elk snadder…with more or less success! Elk can be very chewy, to be honest!

I cut off some quality pieces and put them in a marinade. I hope they have gone smooth and tender by now. I will make lunch out of them to day – Friday ELK BEEF – yummi…!

They have been soaking in my herb and oil mixture since tuesday and should have absorbed all the good spices by now!

So now I’ll go ahead and fry them in my pan!

To be continued…

…the elk steacklets were totally amazing, so juicy and soft! We enjoyed them together with a bottle of Amarone on friday! It’s been a quiet and relaxing weekend!

TIPS! Rosemary really puts a nice taste to elk meat!

Big TreeIt has rained in Antibes since monday. I kind of like rain when it is not so cold.

We have had our dear Catharina visiting us since Tuesday.

I guess this was not the weather she expected, but not much to do about it! She is leaving to-morrow, so now we head for Cannes to do some shopping and to have a nice lunch no matter how wet it is!

After all it is «La Jour de la Femme».

Allers Page 2

I’m so sorry that I was so quick to announce my appearance in Allers when a friend of mine mailed this photos to me!

I did not know that she was a subscriber to the magazine and therefore got it in her post before it gets in the store!!!

Well, anyways, to you who bought this weeks issue I hope you can do all the x-words. There is probably some good reading and some good recipes. May by there is a novel to be continued next week 🙂 🙂

Bon Weekend to all my dear friends 🙂

How funny to be portrayed in Allers in next week issu nr. 11, releast on monday the 11th. of March!

I had almost forgotten all about it! It’s a pity I can’t get hold of one copy right now, because I would like to check it out!

I’m smiling and laughing of the comments on my Facebook status! Mille you are the best 🙂 It’s true, Allers is maybe not the magazine for a hip trendy youth like my self, haha, but you know, I like PR, so so be it 🙂

Thank you Gullen Øyehaug for making such a nice reportage. See you soon I hope 🙂 We might need to do a follow-up since our directions are constantly changing, though the goal is still the same!

Hope you enjoy the article and my photos 🙂

A bientout from a rainy France today!
