Armor of amore

As you might have noticed I live and breath SchimJolie Silk. They are my heart and soul. I have designed them and I love them so much.

Today I was invited by my own gentle and so all the way generous man to come join him for dinner in town.

And of course I had to dress up and bring some beautiful scarves along to the restaurant to show them off.

Being a busy Fashion Farmer at Strai and Silkebekk Gård I have to use every occasion I get….

….so I «kissed» my Silk Chickens goodbye and off we drove in our dear beloved Land Rover Defender, Schimbo.

Here you see the beautiful scarf palette and their names with links:

WRAP UP!

I like to wrap up in an Ltd #artcarf by Schimjolie as some of you might have noticed 😀

But as it happens I also like to make eatable wraps from scratch and here is my recipe:

Love this Pizza
Love this Pizza Napolitane!

Spelt Flour – Olive oil from Oliviers&CO – Pinch of Salt – Baking Powder – Milk

I don’t like to make too much fuss about measuring so I just take the flour (important to save some for the pressing out part) and add some salt, baking powder and olive oil. Then I add milk until the dough is firm and sticky!

Here you can take a break …that’s what I do! I put the dough into a plastic bag and store it in the refrigerator until I want to continue 😀

In my case it is the next day…

Or you can just leave it in the bowl put some cling film over and wait 20 minutes:D

What ever you choose!

Then I let the pictures speak for the rest:

PROBABLY MIKE – I SAY YES!

I’m totally AMAZED! Yesterday we met a singigng male angel! We came to The Hop Store in Antibes, Heine, Margret, Svein Erik and me. The weather here in Antibes had just gone from bad to very bad…13 degrees and raining. It was freezing cold. We thought about going home or inside somewhere, but decided we’d try The Hop Store, while we waited for Vibeke and Filip to turn up.

There were no people except a few people in the far right corner! We sat down on the table next to them and ordered 4 big beers to warm us up…..Then this cool guy from the table beside us, pulls out his guitar and starts to sing «I said Yes!»

Margret’s and my jaw just dropped, becauce he was so good, he was so alive and he was so cool. With a white hat, Ray Bans, white wide v-neck, the guitar and a Guinniss, and this gift of a voice….!!

So glad we stayed!! He broght the sun back and before we knew it we were singing with and applauding this Gods gift….We got a name before we went home, and first thing in the morning I looked up «Probably Mike» and now I am a total fan! Love this music so I just wanted to share it with you all! He called it «Folk-ish!» Then I can say I like Folk-ish!

Hope you like it too! I sure do and I can’t wait for him to do a duette with another up and comming star our own Catharina……;))))

Here is a screen dump of my instagram account, becauce I did not have the picture on this device….And I am to lazy to do anything about it!

I say yes! I said Yes! Yes! Yesssssssssss!

When Your Love Is Gone

HOW IS YOUR BURGER?

To day I have made burgers for dinner!

It always makes me laugh thinking of the hysterically funny movie «Dumb Dumber» with, one of my over all time favourite comedian actor, Jim Carry.

They sit in this burger shop and  have put lots of chilli on this guys burger and Harry asks in a very funny way «How’s your burger????» Hahahaha!

Cheeky 2 Cheeky 1

Hahahahahahahaha!!!

This is how my burger started out to-day:

BurgerMince meat, oregano, mint, basil, salt and pepper! The outsider meatball is for Lucas, no herbs in his shit…

Yo yo

I also baked in some cheese before I fried them in the pan!

So answer to my question will be: They tasted delicious, and I called them «Herb Burger»

I totally forgot to take a picture of the finished result…to hungry! Sorry…next time :-)

DEAR BLOG!

Dear blog!

I have not been able to write and post pictures as my life is a bit complicated and busy at the moment. And we have had great time with family visiting us in Antibes.

Catharina flew in from London first and stayed four days. All rainy and cold. She left and a few days later Tomas flew in from Norway. He spent 10 days in the easter with us.

Catta and me in Cannes! Drowned cats…..due to wet weather!!

In france they don’t have easter holiday like us Norwegians. During easter Lucas class went on a skiing trip for 12 days to Auron.

For you who don’t know, Lucas is now in french school. Very exiting and challenging. He is learning a third language now, and coping! 12 days only speaking french worked wonders for his french language learning curve:)

Anyway we were allowed to come and visit him on sunday, easter morning, so we drove up with Tomas to spend the day with Lucas.

SES&IWe drove the curvy road home when visiting hours were over at 16:15. And coming home Helena had arrived from London to spend 8 days with us.

Helena and me having lunch at Baoli Beach in Cannes

Then they left one by one and only a few days later we are back home in Norway, due to Lucas «Spring Break» from the french school!

Well it is a busy life, but it is so much joy to be able to spend it living, traveling, learning, evolving, absorbing, reflecting and all in all developing and getting new experiences!

But don’t misunderstand me! Making decisions like we have, don’t come easy! And it is for sure not for everyone!

For now I just want to enjoy my stay in Norway!

Seems like the bad weather has cursed us. On the Riviera, it has not been a worse spring in 40 years, rain, rain, rain!! So don’t mention the weather, please! It is sunny and 18 degrees there now. And look what we brought with us home! Haha, be glad we are soon off again and hopefully we lose it over germany or something, haha!!!

I guess it has nothing to do with us, but it is a coincidence, though :) And by the way I actually like misty weather!

Here are som of my photo catch from my hometown Kristiansand, and one of the most popular places to go swimming and sun bathing in the summer, Bertes:

And now it is May 2 I wrote this post a while ago, but I never got to post it due to among other things crappy INTERNET connection :-/……. Anyway… what can I say…Time Flies for sure! See more updated photos and adventures on www.instagram.com/ihimberg

MOOSE IN THE HOOSE

IMG_6419

Moose on the riviera is highly unlikely, but when you are on a budget and have access to unlimited supplies, you gotta give it a try!

I defrosted a big 1,7kg moos piece, on monday! Svein Erik prioritized his luggage to contain 15 kg moos meat the last time he flew from Norway…

So this week we have had elk burgers, elk soup, elk casserole, elk steaks, elk stew, elk snadder…with more or less success! Elk can be very chewy, to be honest!

I cut off some quality pieces and put them in a marinade. I hope they have gone smooth and tender by now. I will make lunch out of them to day – Friday ELK BEEF – yummi…!

They have been soaking in my herb and oil mixture since tuesday and should have absorbed all the good spices by now!

So now I’ll go ahead and fry them in my pan!

To be continued…

…the elk steacklets were totally amazing, so juicy and soft! We enjoyed them together with a bottle of Amarone on friday! It’s been a quiet and relaxing weekend!

TIPS! Rosemary really puts a nice taste to elk meat!

LONDON CALLING

Big Ben

I love London! I lived in the metropolis in my younger days, so it is always a pleasure to come back and see how some things changes and some things don’t!

This weekend we came to attend a big education conference called BETT. Svein Erik is connected to a company who developes software and via them we all came together this weekend to promote the new application, «app», called «Smart Class»

The «app»basicly puts the teacher in control of the students tablets when in the classroom. The teacher can lock down the tablets and make them only see the educational stuff presented! The teacher can see all the screens of the students on her/his control tablet and make sure they are paying attention. if not, she’ll know:))

The system is 100% android. And there was so much people visiting and paying interest to this product. We were all exhausted by the end of saturday!

Anyway it was so nice to see Tomas, and the girls; Catharina and Helena, who lives in London, again!

Tomas flew over all by him self from Kr.sand via Oslo to Heathrow! Then he took the Heathrow express and I met him in Paddington.

I did not expect him to be stopped in custom because he is a minor, but so he did! Custom called me and asked if it was correct that he was traveling alone. I agreed to that and they let him continue his travel! It’s good to know they are doing their job, he could be on the run for all they knew :-)

Tomas is so calm and very smart. He navigated London like a native in no time :-)

Here are some photos taken during our stay!

On sunday we had the time to do some sightseeing, but not enough to take the bus! So we took a taxi, hihi!

Condor

Our neighbour stand was Condor with Canon printers. By end of saturday I came to ask if they could print some of my work! That was no problem. They were so helpful and nice. I only regret I didn’t ask them on friday! They printed two of my art work – on over time!! THANK YOU AGAIN, Condor and Ryan Briscoe for your will to work :-)
