Good thing I had ELLE and could read about our beloved Crown Prinsess, HRH MM, in Ltd #artscarf «Channel» by SchimJolie on the hood of SchimBo :D
Did I mention when our Land Rover Defender, Schimbo, broke down in the middle of nowhere?
Well, that’s not exactly right, but we were far out. We had by coincidence ended up at one of Norway’s few wine yards called Kvelland VinGård in Lyngdal.
After seeing the Alpacas at Lista we were recommended to take a look at the wine yard to get inspired.
We were lucky and got hold of the farmer who showed us around and let us take pictures.
He also told us about the spiritual evenings he organized in the function house and told us to come one day.
We were going to leave, but then SchimBo refused to start!!!!
We turned the key, but not even a sound came out of SchimBo, who had been so happy to be taking us out to a different country side!
The car does have soul, and we also started to think about the spiritual affairs going on here, but to what end?
«You can check out any time you like but you can never leave…Welcome to Wine Yard Kve-e-elland!» hahahahaha
Anyways we tried to run it, to tow it, but no life! So we had to call Falken and after an hour or so the tow car came and took us to Mandal!
And the story will continue another time course in Mandal we learned some more interesting things!
Here are the photos from our adventure at Kvelland Gård:

It’s getting really cold outside. The colorful leaves, that made this autumn a true firework, have left most of the trees, but yet again we are entering a beautiful season up north!
Winter! Frost! Snow! Christmas! Candles! Dark! Cosy! Cakes! Hot-drinks! Music! And I could go on with key word, but I will not!
I just want to welcome you to Strai and to Le Petite Country Shop! We have the atmosphere and the most amazing surroundings here. It’s less than a 10 min. drive from Kristiansand center!
We are next to Drømmehaven, a flower and interior shop making the most gorgeous decorations for x-mas right now! They also have evening courses! Check it out!
In Le Petite Country Shop we have the gorgeous multi use designer Ltd #artscarf form www.schimjolie.com.
We co-operate with local hand crafters and have gotten hold of Mille’s handmade meditation candles.
The candles are made from the best raw materials, they are 100% natural consisting of bi wax and pure essential oils. You can massage the oil and wax on to your skin leaving it soft and smooth with a fresh scent!
In the knitted wool department, Karina has left some of her hand knitted hats for kids! They are super cute and absolutely one of a kind!
It’s really working out. At first I was not sure if it would be a good idea, but now I have no doubts anymore!
Mobile photo shoots, as in driving home to the motive, is the new thing for me! I love coming home to my friends and clients and save them the time and hassle it takes for the lot to pack, collect them selves and get going to a photo studio or location.
Every setting is individual and unique! And all they have to do is get dressed and be ready when we have agreed. Then I use only like 30 minutes of their time. And I must say, the results, so far, has turned out amazing!
SchimJolie PhotoGraphy is so much more though it’s less! Less in a good way! Less stress if you understand!
If you want to make an appointment, just drop us a line on Facebook inbox!
Look at this!! Isn’t she great! This is my wonderful niece Lisa Anna: I got a phone call from my brother last week. He asked if I was available for an assignment because he had this brilliant idea for a picture he wanted in his new house!
And you know what?
As it happens, and as I told you in an earlier blog post, I will say YES when friends and acquaintances ask me to do a photo-job!
So here Lisa Anna and I are kind of cooking.… She is holding a crab to the left and a crayfish to the right! I’m holding my Leica M8, and the two of us are at least cooking together a picture…!!
I think the photo came out fantastic!
Bring them on these all these untraditional and fun assignments!
I might also take up my commercial photography and do some children and family portraits if anybody is interested?
Next to SchimJolie – Petite Country Shop I already have the most amazing flower and garden outlet «Drømmehaven» run by the sweetest and so friendly Kristin. She came with coffee to me as I was way down in all the crap and rubbish stored over many years in these three garages we cleared today!
Tomorrow I will paint the joint and then I will start decorating! Come and visit if you have the chance. I’ll bring the coffee machine tomorrow and there is always time for a chat!
The place will not be perfect at first but, but I need to get going and to get started, so I don’t worry, we’ll work it out as we move!
Life is too short to care about trifles JUST DO IT!
So see you at Strai and at SchimJolie – Petite Country Shop – Studio & Gallery!

Then I have this wavy iron to give me the texture in the fringe and at last I tied the Ltd #artscarf «Yellow Summertime» twice around my head! (Use the blue link to see full size and how you can get it)

I like it!
So maybe that’s the style I use when I in less than fifteen hours is on my way to the «City of Lights» to meet with the fashion Industry in Paris.
On thursday we met with Alpakka Lista. Alpacas have fascinated me for a long time, and I started to google and try to find out more about them this summer. Therefore when I found out about the livestock farm at Lista I just knew I had to go!
We got a really nice meeting with Cecilie Nilsen who is the «mother» of over 45 alpacas.
She imported her first stock from New Zealand in 2009 and has never looked back. She told us that the process has been long and challenging, but well worth it, when coming this far.
She gets lots of attention from tourists and from the people in the little communities of the ares around Lista.
And you don’t have to wonder why…really!
The Cutest Alpaca Girl Ever
Alpacas are used in therapy and mindfulness. And just to sit and observe a flock of alpaca is very tranquilizing and interesting.
Cecilie tells us that their attitude resembles of a cat’s. They are very independent, curious, a bit shy. They are elegant and graceful. And they are beautiful, funny and friendly.
But not like the cat, you can train an alpaca, they are super intelligent and responsive to training. Left alone you can pet them but:
The alpacas do not like to be cuddled when they are in their flock on the field, they are not that kind of animal. They totally ignore you and pull away if you try to stoke them.
That’s why in the pictures I’m walking around in the flock, when I came too close they just pulled away!
Cecilie also told us that if you cuddle an alpaca when it’s a baby and use it as a pet, they can go crazy and you have to put it down.
But if you treat them with respect and let them live their own life on a big field, in a flock, minimum 2, under your care; which is limited down to cutting their nails, trimming their wool once a year, checking their teeth, giving them the possibility of shelter during rough weather and some concentrated feed and D vitamins in the winter month, the alpaca is surviving and living a happy life.
We have to admire Cecile and her husband for their work at the farm. And all the things they have accomplished! Check out their web shop with the fantastic products made of alpaca wool.
Thursday was a wonderful day, sunny and warm, so we moved over to the Light House where the alpaca boys were grassing and decided to make a photo shoot with them in Ltd #artscarf from SchimJolie.
SchimJolie Farmerstyle PlumJam – with hint of vanilla and cinnamon
Yesterday we spent time on grandmas farm again and we came home with a large bag of plums!
For the first time in my life I have made jam….. it wasn’t rocket science, It was more like a test of your patience….well, the most time-consuming job was to remove the stones out of 2-3 kilo plumes, but with that done I just put some water, not much, into the pan and poured 1 deciliter sugar in as well.
I also found a couple of cinnamon sticks and one vanilla bean I threw in!
After, I read on the pack, that the sugar is supposed to be added after the plums have boiled. But I don’t worry about that! I’ll do it that way next time, hihi!! It also said I needed to add a whole kilo of sugar! No way!
I added the «Jam-Pack», to make the jam more firm, like it said on the pack and then I added 1 deciliter more sugar – in my taste and health opinion, more than enough!
«you don’t always have to follow the recipe – whether it is in life or cooking, it is always allowed to think for your self and do your own experiences, that’s how you learn and evolve» – Ingrid Himberg2013

SchimJolie Farmerstyle PlumJam with Cinnamon and Vanilla
Last week I got a request from a friend. She wondered if I could photograph her 6 weeks old son.
Well, I thought….
I don’t have a studio anymore, as I have given away my share of my former photo business in town. (I’m all out of that affair for over a year now)
Then I thought of how fun it would be to take the challenge. I do have some cameras and I have for sure the experience. I also have a big living room where a little 6 week old easily could fit in!
Coming back from France, after 10 month, I’m for the moment out of work! And I’m kind of missing meeting clients and being social with them! Though I have a project I’m working on called SchimJolie I’m open for different kind of design and photo assignment!
So I figured, Yea! Let’s try, and see if I’m still up for it!
I rigged my living room and prepared for the shoot!
It worked perfect! And I was given so much joy and I think I gave some back! When I start working with treasures like these small babies I forget time and place!
I was sweating bullets as I flew around, slowly, high and low with my big Hasselblad and Leica around my neck.
It was great fun and I’m so glad I said yes to help them out with some proper nice photos!
