Leaving with luggage

Leaving With Luggage
To give you an idea of how much I was carrying….

I’m on my way to Monaco to set up a SchimJolie silk design viewing and also to build my business net work and meet with my dealer here and see some friends!

Armed with designs to my teeth, after I had to relieve my suitcase for 2,5 kg overweight, and put them in my hand luggage in order to avoid paying €75 in extra overweight fee…I’m finally on the plane to Nice!

I’m laughing and picturing myself at 05:30 this morning pulling out 2,5 kg silk/wool designs and dressing up in them, to get my baggage checked in! Then through security with all the scarves, Suie the small suitcase packed with even more designs and Luie the tool bag tucked inside big Bluie to make it look like only one piece in addition and my StyleGuides put into a shopping bag to make it look like it was a gift I just bought at the airport! Leica camera had to go around my neck and I regretted bringing with me the big Bose headphones with noise reduction….

Omg I met a friend who works at the airport and she couldn’t help but laugh at me and wonder if they would let me through! But as soon as I’m through security I arrange everything so it doesn’t look as much. Actually my friend comment on how it didn’t look as bad as it did first!

When I enter the cabin my 10 wool/silk designs are around my neck, Luie is inside my big bag Bluie… Bluie is on my shoulder and hiding behind my back, and Suie the suitcase comes in first! Then we serve the flight attendants a big brave smile and say «Good morning», before we elegantly make our way through the aisle and find our seat! Not warm at all….!

You know I was sweating bullets, but it’s good morning exercise, kind of…I guess!

Break Down

Ltd #artscarf "Channel" by SchimJolie
Good thing I had ELLE and could read about our beloved Crown Prinsess,  HRH MM, in Ltd #artscarf «Channel» by SchimJolie on the hood of SchimBo 😀

Did I mention when our Land Rover Defender, Schimbo, broke down in the middle of nowhere?

Well, that’s not exactly right, but we were far out. We had by coincidence ended up at one of Norway’s few wine yards called Kvelland VinGård in Lyngdal.

After seeing the Alpacas at Lista we were recommended to take a look at the wine yard to get inspired.

We were lucky and got hold of the farmer who showed us around and let us take pictures.

He also told us about the spiritual evenings he organized in the function house and told us to come one day.

We were going to leave, but then SchimBo refused to start!!!!

We turned the key, but not even a sound came out of SchimBo, who had been so happy to be taking us out to a different country side!

The car does have soul, and we also started to think about the spiritual affairs going on here, but to what end?

«You can check out any time you like but you can never leave…Welcome to Wine Yard Kve-e-elland!» hahahahaha

Anyways we tried to run it, to tow it, but no life! So we had to call Falken and after an hour or so the tow car came and took us to Mandal!

And the story will continue another time course in Mandal we learned some more interesting things!

Here are the photos from our adventure at Kvelland Gård:

Hair Band Style

I felt playful this morning and decided to try a new look with the #artscarf.

It’s really getting colder up north so wearing it like a dress is a bit to cold for me now!

These days I mostly use the Ltd #artscarf’s as a shawl, a poncho, a cape or a nice neck scarf to compliment my otherwise very neutral and straight outfit!

But today I decided to use it as a chick hair band. I’ve noticed that this style is really trendy right now so here I the result of pulling all my hair forward, secured with long flat clips.

Then I have this wavy iron to give me the texture in the fringe and at last I tied the Ltd #artscarf «Yellow Summertime» twice around my head! (Use the blue link to see full size and how you can get it)

Ltd #artscarf «Yellow Summertime» from SchimJolie used as a hair band

I like it!

So maybe that’s the style I use when I in less than fifteen hours is on my way to the «City of Lights» to meet with the fashion Industry in Paris.

ALPACA ALMIGHTY – du store alpakka

On thursday we met with Alpakka Lista. Alpacas have fascinated me for a long time, and I started to google and try to find out more about them this summer. Therefore when I found out about the livestock farm at Lista I just knew I had to go!

We got a really nice meeting with Cecilie Nilsen who is the «mother» of over 45 alpacas.

She imported her first stock from New Zealand in 2009 and has never looked back. She told us that the process has been long and challenging, but well worth it, when coming this far.

She gets lots of attention from tourists and from the people in the little communities of the ares around Lista.

And you don’t have to wonder why…really!

The Cutest Alpaca Girl Ever

Alpacas are used in therapy and mindfulness. And just to sit and observe a flock of alpaca is very tranquilizing and interesting.

Cecilie tells us that their attitude resembles of a cat’s. They are very independent, curious, a bit shy. They are elegant and graceful. And they are beautiful, funny and friendly.

But not like the cat, you can train an alpaca, they are super intelligent and responsive to training. Left alone you can pet them but:

The alpacas do not like to be cuddled when they are in their flock on the field, they are not that kind of animal. They totally ignore you and pull away if you try to stoke them.

That’s why in the pictures I’m walking around in the flock, when I came too close they just pulled away!

Cecilie also told us that if you cuddle an alpaca when it’s a baby and use it as a pet, they can go crazy and you have to put it down.

But if you treat them with respect and let them live their own life on a big field, in a flock, minimum 2, under your care; which is limited down to cutting their nails, trimming their wool once a year, checking their teeth, giving them the possibility of shelter during rough weather and some concentrated feed and D vitamins in the winter month, the alpaca is surviving and living a happy life.

We have to admire Cecile and her husband for their work at the farm. And all the things they have accomplished! Check out their web shop with the fantastic products made of alpaca wool.

Thursday was a wonderful day, sunny and warm, so we moved over to the Light House where the alpaca boys were grassing and decided to make a photo shoot with them in Ltd #artscarf from SchimJolie.

Always out to promote and to make and to create! Check out this video we made as well http://www.schimjolie.com/live-love-laugh-lista/

We drove away happy and inspired and decided to go visit the vineyard just a stone throw away! More about that in my next blog post 🙂

Trying a geisha look in Ltd #artscarf «Single Swan» hihi

Wiiiiiiiiiiiii………We are going to Tokyo next month. So I better start practicing the Japanese language and style…..!

I have never been to Japan before but I’m pretty good at eating sushi for what it’s worth 🙂

I honestly can’t wait to see this far away country with such different culture, history and scenery compared to Europe!! My camera will go burning hot, I recon!

And there will be a new Tokyo edition to the Ltd #artscarf collection from SchimJolie, for sure!!

I got some great tips from CathinTheCity who just came back from Tokyo last week.

Well, if anybody out there have some suggestions about what to see or not, feel free to leave a comment! I’ll be very happy to hear from you!

In the mean time I’ll have to study on my own. I always like to know some phrases in the language spoken in the countries I visit so here we go:

If you give good you get good – or – you get as good as you give!

I salute my PAPA!

Tomorrow it’s 1 month since my dad left after 6 weeks spent on the French Riviera with us! And that makes us home for 3 weeks now….

Anyway, my dad!

It’s amazing how happy and simple this man is. After 6 weeks in the same flat with him we just have to say he is the most easy going person we know!

He went through a massive heart attack 11 years ago and had a pacemaker installed.

I was 3 month pregnant with Lucas and at my friend Mette’s 30 birthday party when I got the phone call of my dad’s attack.

11 years ago I did not have much contact with my father, I barely met with him, and my son Tomas, at 4 hardly new his granddad.

But then we slowly began to catch up! He recovered and I needed a babysitter for Lucas, especially, but also for Tomas, Helena and Catharina. So we started to bond through the children.

Owning my own joint, as in being self-employed, I had no maternity leave and I had to go to work only 6 weeks after giving birth! I had Lucas with me at work when he was small, but at 5 month he began to be a hand full. So my dad came to rescue when ever I needed him! He took Lucas for long strolls in his carry cot.

I have never had a NO from him ever. Every time I ask him to baby sit, it’s always YES!! And he never complains or nags about anything, not even his serious illness! He is just happy and grateful for being given a second chance, both in life and with me and my family.

He even came down to France to look after Lucas when we were attending the Love Art weekend! Then with no complaints he flew home with the boys, Lucas and Tomas, one week before us and just stayed in our house with them. Really helping us out and making it possible for us to the photo shoot with Svein Bringsdal for SchimJolie!

I think it’s amazing and look at him on the last day in france! He was celebrating 6 weeks by ordering the biggest seafood plate at «Aycolon», his favorite restaurant in Antibes!

Thank You so much, daddy! You are the best, and you deserve the best. I don’t think I can ever tell you how much your support and easy way of responding means to Svein Erik and I!

You are always welcome to the place you have become so found of, Antibes, with its large port and all the big yachts you know so much about…Lady Gu, etc hehe!!

He is also my biggest fan on facebook, he likes everything I do!! That way I know he is paying attention and I know he is doing fine 🙂 So thank You again!

Love from me!

I’m totally AMAZED! Yesterday we met a singigng male angel! We came to The Hop Store in Antibes, Heine, Margret, Svein Erik and me. The weather here in Antibes had just gone from bad to very bad…13 degrees and raining. It was freezing cold. We thought about going home or inside somewhere, but decided we’d try The Hop Store, while we waited for Vibeke and Filip to turn up.

There were no people except a few people in the far right corner! We sat down on the table next to them and ordered 4 big beers to warm us up…..Then this cool guy from the table beside us, pulls out his guitar and starts to sing «I said Yes!»

Margret’s and my jaw just dropped, becauce he was so good, he was so alive and he was so cool. With a white hat, Ray Bans, white wide v-neck, the guitar and a Guinniss, and this gift of a voice….!!

So glad we stayed!! He broght the sun back and before we knew it we were singing with and applauding this Gods gift….We got a name before we went home, and first thing in the morning I looked up «Probably Mike» and now I am a total fan! Love this music so I just wanted to share it with you all! He called it «Folk-ish!» Then I can say I like Folk-ish!

Hope you like it too! I sure do and I can’t wait for him to do a duette with another up and comming star our own Catharina……;))))

Here is a screen dump of my instagram account, becauce I did not have the picture on this device….And I am to lazy to do anything about it!

I say yes! I said Yes! Yes! Yesssssssssss!

Velkommen til det Sør Franske:

Big TreeIt has rained in Antibes since monday. I kind of like rain when it is not so cold.

We have had our dear Catharina visiting us since Tuesday.

I guess this was not the weather she expected, but not much to do about it! She is leaving to-morrow, so now we head for Cannes to do some shopping and to have a nice lunch no matter how wet it is!

After all it is «La Jour de la Femme».
